Cindy Li

Graduate – Heritage & Design (Architectural Graduate)

Cindy joined Curio Projects as a Student Architect in 2025, while completing her Bachelor of Design in Architecture (Honours) and Master of Architecture at the University of Sydney. She is drawn to projects that treat heritage interpretation, community memory and cultural context as central to design.

Her university capstone project, the Gadigal Centre of Excellence, is an adaptive reuse educational facility in Redfern shaped by archival research into Gadigal ecology and the pre-colonial history of the site. This research into heritage directly informed material decisions and spatial organisation to revive the building’s relationship to Country. The project was selected for inclusion in the 2025 Architecture Gradshow Exhibition Catalogue. Earlier work near Carriageworks explored how an industrial site could be revived by honouring its layered histories and heritage, and a supported women’s housing project examined how architecture can respond ethically to sites marked by absence, trauma and institutional violence.
